Coventry Log Homes Gets a Face Lift

In response to the growing popularity of the outdoor living movement, Coventry Log Homes, Inc. introduced The Recreational Camp Series this past fall. The Getaway, the smallest of The Recreational Camp Series, was the first of the series to be erected on the site of Coventry Log Homes’ manufacturing mill and offices located on South Court Street in Woodsville, NH. The Timbertrail, the 14’x20’ camp, was recently erected next to The Getaway camp model. Both camps have been outfitted with handcrafted log furniture by Montana Woodworks which is available for sale through Coventry Log Homes. Sales staff, Juanita Belyea and Deb Simano, chose to decorate the Timbertrail log camp using a black bear theme. The Timbertrail features a 12’x14’ living area with an exposed beam cathedral ceiling. A railed loft, accessible by ladder sits atop the bed and bath rooms which together encompass a 14’x8’ space. The 6’x20’ covered porch extends the living area to include the outside.
Anticipating the erection of The Creekside, Mountaineer, and Lakeview log camps, mill employees set posts and ran underground electric lines before the ground froze. Each of the five log camps in the series of six are arranged in a semi-oval shape overlooking the street next to The Somersworth model log home and offices.

Other recent improvements to Coventry’s site include an addition to the mill for office space for mill manager, Ken Klinger and mill foreman, David Hart. The tired old fence which shielded the view of the lumber yard was removed and a new fence was set back nearly 20 feet from the road to expose the white birches lining the street.

President and vice president Jeff and Mark Elliott re-designed the exhibition booths used to demonstrate the quality and construction process of their log home packages at trade shows. The roof system for the display booth was designed by draftsman Doug Thornton. Two versions of the booths were constructed. One features the 6"x8" “D” logs that are standardly used for homes, and the other was constructed using the 4’x8’ “D” log standard for the Recreational Camp Series. The exhibition booths can be seen at the following upcoming shows: 2008 Dodge Truck Fishing and Hunting Expo at the Connecticut Convention Center in Hartford from February 15-17; and the 6th Annual Maine Log Home Show at the Augusta Armory in Augusta, Maine from March 7-9.
